A sound investment

Just bought a t-shirt with this design on it to celebrate my return to cryptozoology. I urge you to do the same!

Hahaha. It's just so clever!

Contemplation

I am back from the grave. Indeed, it's been a tough winter for me. One could say I've done a lot of soul-searching, and there were certainly days I spent staring out of windows, drinking tea, contemplating... Never a good sign.

However I've been trying to make positive changes in my life. I even bought myself a cat and named her Matilde. She hates the neighbors' dog nearly as much as I do, and we often sit on my balcony together, taunting Skipper, the dog in the yard below. We dangle ham slices and wait for him to jump and bark, then jerk the ham slices back. Hahaha! What a horrible dog.

I've gotten a job as a waitress, but I do not make very good tips. My manager keeps telling me to work on my people skills, and I keep telling him the same thing I tell my customers: I am the best waitress there, and he is lucky to have me.

However, waitressing does not make me happy.

I know that I cannot give up cryptozoology. Though it is a tough career choice, it is what I am meant to do.

Farewell

I have decided to take a step back from cryptozoology.

The wrong line of work

My trip to the Pacific Northwest is at an end. Several days in the forest with not even the slightest trace of Bigfoot. I was so sure this time! Besides the lead at the bed and breakfast, my instincts told me there was something there, something to be uncovered. I have failed.

This is turning out to be worse than my expedition to Mexico to investigate that farmer's sheep disappearance. Turned out that the culprit was not El Chupacabra at all. It was a returning coyote, or, more likely, the man's own pet dog. The thing was constantly running after his sheep. He tried to explain to me that it was a sheep dog. "Exactly," I told him.

Perhaps I have chosen the wrong line of work.

Bigfoot Expedition - Day 7

I have headed back into town to replenish supplies. No sightings yet, but I remain hopeful!

Though it's beginning to get a little nippy outside, the forests here are absolutely lovely! The rich green hue of the trees is changing to vibrant rusts, and yellows, and reds. The forest floor is alive with sprawling plants and forest creatures. I am certain that Bigfoot is among them.

Bigfoot Expedition - Day 1

I arrived in the Pacific Northwest last night and stayed at a quaint bed and breakfast. The place reminds me of my aunt's house where I used to stay when I was young, except my aunt doesn't live here and I don't like it quite as much.

I woke to the aroma of zucchini bread (not as good as my aunt's) wafting from the kitchen and joined my host at her breakfast table. She handed me coffee and asked what I was in town for.

"I'm a cryptozoologist."

She told me that people of my profession have ventured here before. I asked her if they had mentioned any sightings, and she said, "I don't think so, Dear. But my brother Tommy swears to this day he once saw Bigfoot roaming the forest while he was out hunting."

WHAT LUCK! Of course, I was beside myself, and asked her for all the details. She was able to describe the general location of the forest where the sighting occurred, and so I'm headed out there tonight to set up camp.

Comic

Hahaha. I want a doormat like this! Maybe it would get Bigfoot to come right to my door!
